Joe Piper Inc. proudly announces the results of their 2013 AIB Food Safety and Procedures Audit. The company scored 935 points.

This is the highest point score JPI has achieved so far in spite of new higher standards and stricter specifications.

The new facilities manager, Haley Snowden says “ We are proud to offer our customers the continued assurance of Joe Piper Inc’s commitment to the highest standards of cleanliness and record keeping.  This is just one of the many areas of value that sets JPI apart from our competitors.”

Joe piper inc is very pleased to announce the addition of Haley Snowden to our team.

Haley is joining us as our facilities manager, and certification specialist. She will make sure we continue to receive superior ratings on our AIB audit and support our FSC and SFI certification. She will help us maintain our Certified Women Owned Business classification.  Her responsibilities include the smooth operation of all our facilities and upgrades as needed.

Haley has a background in graphic design, printing and customer service. She will use this experience to make sure our facilities provide our customers the outstanding service and value they expect from Joe Piper Inc.

Joe Piper Inc receives certification as woman owned business.

Joe Piper Inc., a distributor of paperboard for packaging in Birmingham, AL announces they have received official certification from WBEC as a woman-owned company.

Although Ann Piper has owned the company for 15 years, the certificate gives the company official status and all the documents necessary to comply with customer request for diversity purchasing.

With today’s business requirements, the need for detailed accountability and traceability of raw materials should be of the utmost importance to converters who manufacture packaging for direct food contact. Because our plants consistently score Superior in these areas plus Superior in cleanliness and housekeeping, our customers have the security of knowing the paperboard they receive from Piper is certified.

This certification from AIB takes its place along with Piper’s SFI and FSC certification.

Joe Piper receives SFI certifications

 Birmingham, AL – As part of a broad commitment to corporate social responsibility, Joe Piper Inc. announced today it has achieved certification to the independent Sustainable Forestry Initiative^® (SFI^®) chain-of-custody standard.

•  At Joe Piper Inc. we have a strong commitment to the environment, and so do our customers,” said Ann Piper.  “SFI chain-of-custody certification plays a critical role in our environmental policy, and empowers our customers to make an educated environmental choice about the paperboard products they buy.”
• With SFI chain-of-custody certification Joe Piper Inc. is strengthening our environmental commitment, and helping our customers source responsible forest products,” said Ann Piper.

With more than 160 million acres certified across North America, the non-profit SFI sustainable forestry certification program is one of the largest in the world, with a standard based on principles and measures that promote sound forest management including measures to protect water quality, biodiversity, wildlife habitat, species at risk and forests with exceptional conservation value. Through SFI chain-of-custody certification, companies must have a tracking system in place so they can tell customers the amount of certified, uncertified and recycled content in the forest products they buy, use or sell.
